Our 2007 return of Coho here on the Skagit system is certainly making up for last years poor return!! Plenty of Silver around throughout the entire system and if our weather holds for us we should still have some great Coho fishing right through December.
To all those that have joined us so far this season, a big “Thank You!” … been a blast as usual and look forward to seeing you all again soon!!

The Keller’s with some dandy Silvers!

Matt and gang with a nice limit of Silvers!

Ken and gang with a nice limit of Silvers!

Mike, Pete and Amy with some nice Skagit River Hatchery Silvers!
Saturday we were joined once again by Pete and Amy who brought along their friend Mike for a day of Silver fishing here on the upper Skagit. “Pinky Pete” weeded through most of the Pinks for Amy and Mike giving them a chance at most of the Silvers while he ran defense.
Still weeding through the “River Vermin” to get to the Silvers!
Had a great time as usual and looking forward to seeing you all back again soon!
Thanks Again!
Sorry for the lack of Blog updates here guys… been busier than snot lately!!
Trying to get our Log Hog home dried in before Winter, while still running trips just about every single day. Was nice during Aug and Sept while I still had a bunch of light left before it got dark, after a day of guiding… getting a little tougher now. (Anyone willing to do construction trade or labor bartering for fishing trips, drop me a line or give me a ring.)
Be sure to check out our NEW “Koenig Family Log Blog” at http://blog2.johns-guide-service.com/ to see our progress on the cabin.
As for the guiding side of things: Been running a few hunting trips and splitting my fishing trips between some Sturgeon / Pink trips down on the Stilly and Silver fishing here on the Skagit:
- Stilly has pretty much died off on the Pinks but Silvers are coming in there now and the “Sturgie” fishing remains pretty good.
- Lower Skagit has been pretty good for Silvers with perfect vis for fishing.
- Upper Skagit till’ this past weekend was running super low and gin clear. Plenty of Silvers around but ya had to weed through the Pinks ( “River Vermin” ) to get anywhere near them. Don’t get me wrong here, Pinks are a hoot to catch when you are targeting them, especially for kids!, (”God made Pinks for Kids!”) but,.. when yer’ after Silvers they become toothy little vermin!
Haven’t been taking many pics lately from any of our trips, (Kept leaving the camera at home for Log Home progress pics) but here’s a couple of “fish porn” pics for ya:
What’s the rule again? “Women always out fish the men!” … OK, maybe not always. Even though Cathy schooled Dave on Kings back in June, and is holding up a dandy “Gator” with her daughter… Dave and his nephew put the hurtin’ on all the Gators this day.

Wedding through the “Vermin”! Paul and gang weeded through 100 plus Pinks landed, to get to these 3 Silvers. Think everyone went home with some aching arms.

Again, weeded through 100 plus Pinks with the Weicker’s to get these 3 Silvers.
