Sorry for lack of reports both on the river conditions and Blog reports here guys… been busier than snot lately and flat arse too tired to do much of anything else. Been out on the river just about every day, gettin’ home and getting gear and boat ready for the next day and then working on a Gazebo I’m building out in the front yard . (Pics of that coming soon)
I’ve been getting quite a few e-mails here about Blog updates with pics… so here ya go guys. Get yer’ fish fix!
Fishing has been pretty steady here on the Skagit the past couple of weeks and while the Skykomish may be putting out fish right now the Skagit is far from dead! Our Hatchery Springers here on the Skagit seem to be tapering off a bit now but were hooking more and more Wild Kings each day.
Sorry no Wild King pics for ya here, with the water levels up its just been easier to cut-em’ loose just after netting them rather than going to shore for a glory shot.

OK,… whats the golden rule? “The women always outfish the men!” No exception here either as Cathie put the hurt on the Springers… and Dave too!

John and his Father-in-law with a nice Springer… released a dandy Wild King as well.

Tim and Lavonne with a couple of nice Springers!
Hope I got your name spelling right Lavonne.

Carl with a dandy Springer!

Get this catch… a dandy up-river Sockeye we caught and released while fishing for Springers. Just had to get a pic of this caught and released fish as rare as it is to see up-river here in June,… let alone catch on King gear.

Frank with a nice limit of hatchery Kings

Terry with a dandy chrome bright hatchery Springer!

Anjelika’s out of school now and out in the boat with me every day helping out as my deck hand,.. she loves to bait hooks, clean fish and drive the boat too! A great help both in the boat and at home here working on the Gazebo… We’re beat!!! Next Blog Report will be after our 2007 Springer season ends here on July 7th.
To all those that joined us the past couple of weeks here on the Skagit, a great big “THANK YOU!!” Have been having an absolute blast out there on the water this season and look forward to seeing you all back again reel soon!

Our 2007 Springer Season here on the Skagit is turning out very similar to last season… Lots of high water with limited visibility and hit or miss fishing. One day of fishing is pretty good with multiple hook-ups and the next pretty slow with only a couple hook-ups.
Water here on the Skagit was on the drop all this past week and visibility drastically improved as well… fishing still remained about the same since our June 1st, opener… Just opened up a lot more water for us to fish in.
To all those that joined us during this past week… Thank You!! Had a great time as always and look forward to seeing you all again here soon!!
Here’s a few pics taken over the past week with the new “Digi Cam”… leave us some more comments and let me know how they are turning out. (still playing around with all the little features on the new camera)

Was all set to start out the Springer season here on the Skagit on the opener…. had the rods all rigged, boat cleaned and waxed, and bait all cut up and ready to go. Set out for the ramp Thursday late afternoon to take the boat for a test run and check out the river a bit and then it happened… “KABOOM”, Boat Trailer’s bearing grenaded!! UGGHHHH!!!
Opening day of the Springer season on the Skagit was shot for me as I scrambled to get a new bearing on the trailer.
Got out on Saturday with regulars Bill and Joyce for a go at some Skagit Springers… visibility was very limited, water was high and Bill was feeling very much under the weather. Missed a couple of fish, one that blistered my thumb while back bouncing eggs, and landed one dandy wild King before calling it quits round 10:00AM. Hope your fever is gone and your feeling a little better Bill.
Got out again Sunday to even higher water than the previous two days and even less visibility. Fished it hard, missing a few fish and landing one nice Hatchery Springer for the day.
Very much looking forward to things cooling down a bit here this week and having the water levels drop and visibility improve!!
Got a new Digi Camera for my birthday last week from the love of my life and got to put it to the test yesterday on the Hatchery Springer we landed. Now I just have to figure out how to edit pictures for the Blog here! The Camera is actually “John Proof” too… it’s the Olympus Stylus 770SW “Shock and Waterproof”
Here’s two pics of the Springer Doug landed yesterday… both edited a little different. Please leave some comments for me here on the pics!! How do they both view on your puter? Do they both load at the same speed? Size the same? ect… let me know. Both were edited in different programs both at 72 dpi and same pixel width and length but the Olympus Program pic is at a higher KB.
First Pic edited with the Olympus Master 2 program that came with the camera (159KB):

Second Pic edited using Corel Paint Shop Pro (Which I still haven’t quite figured out how to use yet at 67.1KB) :
